Wiringa Park - Poll Merino Stud, Nyabing

Wiringa Park is a Poll Merino Stud in Nyabing, Western Australia. We have an annual rainfall of approximately 350mm. The farm is 7000 hectares of owned and leased land. We manage a mixed grain and livestock enterprise comprising of 1800 stud ewes, 2500 commercial ewes and 5500ha of mixed grains including canola, wheat, barley, lupins and vetch.The Poll merino stud was registered in 2008, but the farm has been in the Hobley family for three generations. We aim to breed a genuine dual purpose animal boasting both exceptional wool quality and growth rates for those wanting to put merino lambs through the processes.The sheep we breed are very adaptable and can handle a wide range of environments. Our elite wool quality with nourishment, staple length and whiteness allows our sheep to thrive from higher rainfall areas to the wheatbelt. We use DNA technology for accurate parentage to create predictability for our clients. We also use ASBVs to help validate our extensive visual assessment. We see these as another tool to help refine our breeding objectives.Here at Wiringa Park we aim to provide a product that performs in the paddock, sheep that are predictable, potent and most importantly profitable.
